ART-4025 Advanced Digital Media: Documentary & Social Media

Prerequisite(s): ART-2110 
This course covers theoretical and artistic principles in portraying “reality” and “truth” through social-networking, Web 2.0, digital photography and video. Students will work on a number of projects investigating digital identities, contemporary methods for documenting location and socially conscious audiovisual podcasting. Throughout the course students will be exposed to work created by innovators of documentary. The course will also teach students to creatively utilize tools such as Facebook, Flickr geo-tagging), Youtube and online media networks such as Current TV.
